broken alternator stud!

Default broken alternator stud!

the stud that comes out of the alternator which the power line bolts down to snapped when i was re-tightening it....it wasnt even snug before it snapped off so i couldnt have over torqued it...anyways are these studs replacable at all? any ideas on how i can fix this? TIA

Yes you can just place the stud. You may have to take the alternator out to change it though.

it wouldnt really bother me to make the connection permanent, but i dont have access to a welder..i can solder it on but it would be pretty difficult, im not sure how i could secure it like that.

taking out the alternator would be the last thing i want to do, i just dont have time or the patients right now.

the nut on the alternator seems to get pretty fawking hot, is this out of the ordinary?

awesome..will do, tho i think i have my old dseries alternator around somewhere so i can take that one off if i end up replacing it.

anyone know what needs to be done to remove it?
