Default stumped on an issue: would changing gear ratios mess up a tuned setup?

ok, so this is the deal. a customer of mine recently spun some bearings in his motor. we were tryin to think if its possibly an oil pump that went out or some other issues such as detonation etcc.

after he tuned his vehicle ( hondata, fully built GSR motor, 13 psi, 3** WHP 23* torque) he upgraded his intake manifold from AEBS to a victor X manifold. and also his tranny from his original GSR to an ITR tranny.

im stumped if the tranny itself can mess up a tune enoguh for some detonation or what not to happen as it is. such as making the car lean or somthing along those lines. any ideas?

Sounds like the intake manifold. The gears would only change how the car accelerates, either faster or slower. The computer doesnt really care at what load the engine is in, unless the car wasnt tuned at X load. X being a variable.
