Default Pix of new RPS carbon fiber clutch for the B

Here is some pix of the new RPS carbon fiber twin disc clutch. We have been testing clutches for RPS this year and this model is the results of the R & D. I believe they are selling these units now. They have instant release at shifts of over 10,000 rpm. I hope RPS will add some tech to this post.

Retail price on this clutch is about $3,500 bucks. But if anyone would be interested, they can be had a little cheaper then what full retail is. This clutch is 100 percent fully rebuildable. Its a very nice peice and the pedal feels like stock. I would say it could be a very streetable clutch that would handle even full racecar HP.

Yes, quite a bit more then that. Carbon fiber is not a cheap material to make or use in this kind of app. The cure process takes a long time with multiple stages.

Earl,

What makes this a preferred clutch over the tilton carbon. Both are exact same prices retail. I know the tilton clutch has been proven to work in many applications.

and will this rps clutch, have the same type of bearing system, that tilton offers as extra..

the pucks of the disc are carbon fiber. The disc can take extreme heat comapred to any type of sintered iron.

Earl is this RPS upgraded? I have a RPS Carbon / Carbon but it looks a little different, It's a bad *** clutch though I love it. The hotter it gets the more it
grips yet it is very easy on drivetrain parts.

Hi Everyone,
Thank you for your compliments on the RPS Twin Disc Carbon-Carbon clutch. This product has been proven to be the ultimate clutch for the higher HP community of cars such as the Supra, 3000 GT VR-4, and the 300ZXTT models. And now exceeding the technology beyond that is this clutch that Earl had taken picture of. The newest and the best clutch from RPS for your B-Series.

The highest technology known to man in friction surface is Carbon-Carbon. Carbon-carbon composites consist of highly-ordered graphite fibers embedded in a carbon matrix. C-C composites are made by gradually building up a carbon matrix on a fiber preform through a series of impregnation and pyrolysis steps or chemical vapor deposition. C-C composites tend to be stiffer, stronger and lighter than steel or other metals. The most important class of properties of carbon-carbon composites is their thermal properties. C-C composites have very low thermal expansion coefficients, making them dimensionally stable at a wide range of temperatures, and they have high thermal conductivity. C-C composites retain mechanical properties even at temperatures (in non-oxidizing atmospheres) above 2000°C. They are also highly resistant to thermal shock, or fracture due to rapid and extreme changes in temperature.

Our hard core clients who uses our C/C technology are racers that are utilizing this amazing break-through by doing 2nd gear burnouts, 2nd gear launches, line lock assisted launch with the clutch semi disengaged to load the engine to make positive boost 15~30 psi in 2nd gear!!! Others do 1st gear 7000+ RPM clutch dumps to get the clutch to slip for a fraction of a second for it not to break the tires loose. All on a 2 ton AWD car making 750+AWHP 200+ times at the track daily driven (3000GT-VR-4 Dynamic Racing), Supra 2JZ with 1200lbs of torque on a dyno slipping (Powerhouse/MVP), Viper GTS Supercharged cranking out 1000lbs of torque daily driven (Palo Castalano/ Heffner Performance) to name a few.

The carbon pads are replaceable. Therefore, the clutch is rebuildable.
