Thinking of selling teg... what would you get??
Ok, I'm tossing around the idea of selling my teg and getting a different vehicle.
A few different reasons:
1 - I have to dress up everyday for work and it'd be nice to have an automatic. I've also been taking kinda like "business" trips and I'd like something a little more mature.
2 - I LOVE my 5spd gsr... but it gets me in too much trouble. I'd like to get something that attracts less attention and something that doesn't quite perform as well (yeah that makes alot of sense!, huh?)
I guess Im turning into an old man, but, I want something that has a nice ride and automatic, but, still has some power if needed.
I'm not looking for brand new, I'm thinking something thats a few years old.
Running some errands today, I was just looking around I thought about a newer 2dr V6 accord and possibly a CRV. What do you guys think?
Toss out something reasonable and why you'd pick it. No Lexus's, Cadillacs, etc, etc.
Im 22 and single also, there are NO kids in the future... Id pick the 2dr accord anyday over the 4dr... but I do admit that I like the new WRXs and the new Sentra SE-R Spec Vs. I want an automatic though. It'll slow me down.

I'm probably going to sell my teg soon as well. I'll be buying a ex-police crown victoria to drive instead. It'll also be the tow vehicle for my ITA club racing integra i'm going to build once I sell the conquest..

Automatic CR-V's are WAY too slow. Go for the V6 Accord. What's your budget anyways?
Once I finish my degree and mcse (in a year or two), I hope to be pulling in like $45+k/yr
I got no bills... except insurance

A really nice car would be a 91-95 Acura Legend Coupe or Sedan, beautiful cars.. I dunno how much they cost in the US but up here in Canada I never see any for sale and no manuals. If you do ever see a 6spd Legend down there, even though its manual, it'd be a very nice car, even tho its pretty fast.
Simple... if you can afford get it...
If you can't afford it... lease it for $399/mo... Dec. Special right now.
5sp IS300... drove it last night. VERY SEXY, rides great... CAN get you into trouble if you want, but VERY refined. The 5sp was SIMPLE to drive, I picked up the clutch the first shift. Didn't FEEL as fast as the GSR... but is.
Then if you don't want a 5sp, get the auto. Both are AWESOME cars.

this is just a suggestion, as I am in the same boat
I'm 28, 1 kid , wife....getting old
I love the looks of the Protege5,
it'll keep you out of speeding tickets, very well made,
very "responsible" looking, and a fantastic price (16000)
I would suggest that or the 2002 Infiniti G20
again, gorgeous looks, enough power to keep you interested,
luxury up the YIN-YANG.....and since this is the last year for it,
it's CHEAP to get...dealers are basically killing each other to get rid of inventories,
and if you've ever owned an infiniti, they treat you like GOD when you take it in
for service....it's a very nice feeling
Give both of them a look
Peace

Buy a late model Maxima.
I feel ya on the "getting old" thing. It's only a matter of time before I sell my SSblue GSR for a 4 door sedan or SUV. My family's comfort is more important than the GSR. And you're right, it attracts the wrong kind of attention, by cops and wannabe racer kids.

Hey thanks for all the comments so far guys. I checked out those other cars.. the Mazda and Infiniti and whatever else was mentioned... but I still got my eye on a newer accord.
I went to the Honda dealer yesterday afternoon and drove a 02 Accord Coupe EX V6 and was very impressed. Obviously, its not a rice rocket like my SC'd GSR, nor does it handle like its on rails like my GSR with every possible suspension mod... but, it does whats its supposed to - gives a very niiice ride, with all kinds of comfort and luxury and still has some good "punch" to it. I really like it.
I think I'm going to keep my eye open for a used one... maybe like a 98 or 99 Accord Coupe EX V6
I just posted a message in the Accord forum asking if they changed anything between 98-02.
Well, the JRSC is coming off right now (just taking a breather at the moment) and I'm going to see what happens in court in a week or so and if I get out of this ticket, I'm going to part out my car and definately pick up an Accord to prevent further mishaps (along with the nice ride so I can be "big pimpin"). If I get stuck with this ticket, I'm going to have to check on insurance rates before I buy a newer car... eek

If you're getting an auto, get a car with a large-displacement engine. Getting an auto-tranny up to speed takes some major low-end torque, unless you don't mind torque-braking.
The CL/TL's are nice... if that's too much $, the Sentra V-Spec has a 2.5L engine, which is by far the largest in its class. The car handles well too. The IS300 is nice as well, but you're looking at $35k.

you don't want to feel too old..i'm at your situation right now...rolling on about $30k a year also...i love my integra, but i also get into too much trouble...was thinking about getting the new acura cl or tl..the one with the type S...looks like a nice comfortable car...and also the is300...but with the is300....i know i'm gonna drop a turbo into that car...so i probably go with the acura...man i'm on 21 and feeling old already, guess i work too much...
good choice, my mom owns a 98 Accord EX V-6, drove it all the time before I got my car. Very powerful and comfortable car...comparable to a Lexus Es300, hell..I even pulled on my friend who has a 2000 ES300 with my moms car on the freeway. HOndas all the way..
Acura is the luxury AND performance division, and it shows. One test drive in a 1998+ TL or CL, and I can almost guarentte you'll be hooked.

if you are looking for a classier ride, but with all the quality/resale value/handling of your teg, check out the new TL and even a CL. just at least go TEST DRIVE one.
