Default skunk 2 IM manifold on stock gsr...

since i dont have any mods done to my motor, how much of a power increase should i feel after i install it. is it worth it on a stock motor?

only reason i ask is because on the skunk 2 web site they dyno the mainfold after they dyno the stage1 cam.

I think the manifold actully hurts power on the GSR unless you use the cam and have away to control the fuel needs for the new manifold and cams.

Remember the GSR has a dual butterfly manifold so you will be losing that as well.

When we did the manifold install on a 95 GSR the can lost alot of power in the mid-range. But with the cams to match ( stage1 ) it gained all the mid-range and overall about 10 or so HP at the top. But we did to do some fuel tuning with a vafc...

Just my opinion --- Good luck

when i installed my skunk2 on my gsr, i lost the dual butterfly manifold...i just fixed that by getting a chipped p28 ecu and hondata. very nice and relatively inexpensive upgrade IMO.

Dang. That's crazy. I put down 147,126 with a stock GSR with I/H/E.

But the cost of the p28 chipped and the hondata was much more then the intake manifold --- so these parts were a must to gain back the power lost in the mid-rage from the skunk2 manifold

manifold alone

manifold w/cams and air/fuel controler

we have seen a loss in power when just changing the gsr manifold to a SK2. especially in the midrange because of the removal of the secondaries. However with the addition of ctr cams and a vafc we were able to regain all the loss in the midrange as well as make more peak HP. now the trick would be to leave the cams and vafc and change the manifold back to the p72 and see what happens.
