Default Looking for an affordable mech & perf shop near San Jose, CA

I've got a '95 (4th Gen) Prelude VTEC that I've been beating on for almost 10 yrs (bought it 1 yr used) that needs some love. Looking for a reputable & affordable shop in or near San Jose, CA to get some work done. In particular:

1. Swap out my neuspeed springs for stock springs (can't get chains & want to board this winter) + alignment
2. Brakes
3. AC

Any recommendations? Also, any idea on a fair price for #1 (my top priority). Got a quote for $400 from a local shop, which seems kinda high, but...

Thanks!

Esca; thanks for the lead! Anyone specific I should ask for?

Anyone have an opinion on $400 (labor only) to replace all 4 springs and do the alignment?

very funny. but to prelude95sj yes that seems very high to me for just labor. to replace 4 springs and a alingment should be no more than $250.00. in my opinon

eLUDEnu: $250 sounds a lot more reasonable to me as well (and sounds more like what I paid when I dropped the perf springs in way back when).

puffxy: blacktrax looks interesting; I'll give them a call in the morning.

Has anyone dealt with Speed Merchant on Lincoln in San Jose? (I know this is an international board, but who knows.)

blacktrax is awesome too.. its closer also.. but might be a little expensive..

they did my h22a swap.. and some other things.. so they're on the trustworthy side..

and for expert tune and smog.. just go.. dont really have to ask anyone.. i dont know if they do suspension though.. but you could probably do suspension yourself.. not that hard of a job.. or find some buddies online and ask them to hlep you out if you dont know how
