Finding TDC
Putting my head back on block and trying to find true TDC.Marks wont line up because head has been milled. My question is do you ignore the cam gear marks and use the locking pin holes in the cams as a referance to find TDC ie with the crank lined up with the mark on the lower cover.Or should you use the gear marks as a referance?Right now with the lower mark lined up the intake cam is at zero and the exaust cam is 4 degrees and the pins locked are straight up.
Thanks
Thanks
Set both your cam gearsto zero, make sure of it. I had kinda the same problem with my ls head that was milled .030. But I was wrong or something, because now it lines up great. It should for you too. The tip is not to try to line the marks up with the head, but to make sure the marks are pointing at each other on the inside side of the cam gears. Hope that helps.
