Well it will cost about the same when its all said and done and it will probably perform about the same but it won't look the same. That prelude swap is a ton more work. Go with what you like.

What? you mean a JDM B18C ITR or a USDM B18C5.

Everybody is always asking, "Should I get a B18C5????" Yes. You should get one. Then tell the rest of us where you got it, how long you had to look for it, and and how it felt to shell out that kind of money.

In response to the I/M, which I was not allowed to respond to yet: JDM ITRs are a lot more accessible, and if you live in a state with no smog refs, totally worth it. In California they (the smog refs) are going to bust your ***** on every tiny little thing but in Ohio I think you'll be fine.

H22 is made to be in a prelude. I recently did a h22 swap in a ek hatch. It was a lot of hard work, and the axel angles are hard to get right. Also, the shift cables involve some welding on the main box that your shifter is hooked to. I personally would go with a JDM B18C ITR because they are a little less expensive and the part numbers needed for this swap is way less. I cant say H22 in a hatch isnt a bad idea, bceause they car halls ***, But i know that you will get just as much fun out of a b series motor.

If you are into handling, then you should stay away from the H22.

Instead of asking us what we would do, why don't you tell us what you're working with?

Budget?
Goals?
etc?

There are several routes you can visit, but some routes will lead to more money spent.

You can always have your Block rebuilt. It's pretty cheap now a days.

i would say go with a jdm b18c, since it'll be less work on u, and the performance is great for its price.

i personally own a 94 rs with a 98 ITR engine and tranny swap.

B18C. I know 3 people with them in their cars, and they said nothing compares. I've also seen a video of an H22'd hatch with bolt ons VS. a B18C'd hatch with bolt ons (same things for both cars bolt on wise), and the B18C'd hatch pulled away from the H22 from a roll. At a light, the distance would be greater. Just my 2cents. Someone else may say otherwise.
