Default Victor X manifold on GSR-throttle cable rubs hood

Once I installed my Victor X manifold the throttle cable started to rub the underside of my CF hood. The manifold moves everything up because of its design. The GSR throttle cable comes off of the throttle rotor and goes straight up to a bracket and then heads along the firewall to the drivers side. The LS rotor is designed differently and the cable comes off of the rotor and goes horizantal across the maniolfd with a bracket on the manifold. Has anyone else had this problem and what was their solution. I am having a hard time finding just the throttle rotor, throttle cable and cable bracket without having to buy the entire LS throttle body. Does anyone know if the rotors can be swapped between throttle bodies?

yeah, like on the Skunk2 manifold installs you should have swapped the Throttle Body Pulley to the Non GSR one and used a type R throttle cable and bracket to avoid the problem.

Thanks, I am surprised I have not heard of this before. Does anyone know where I can find these parts?

I don't know about edelbrock but on my skunk2 I just took off my pulley and put it on in a different location. I didn't swap anything. It works fine.

In my situation the pulley isn't the problem it is the throttle cable bracket that puts the cable to high and it hits the hood.

I just got off the phone with Edelbrock and the guy told me I would have to bend the bracket and that they don't know anything about this problem.

Yes you need to relocate the pulley and bracket. So the throttle cable doesn't enter from the top but the side.

Now I get it, I had to look at a few pitures of the two different throttle bodies. The rotor is the same I just loosen it and spin it about 90 degrees clockwise and it will be in a position for the cable to be pulled across the manifold. Now I just need the non gsr bracket on the manifold that holds everything tight. Is this part supposed to come with the manifold?

Your problem is something that must be addressed whenever a Skunk2 maniold is put on a GS-R engine. This how-to should help you out:

I can't rotate the rotor I have because of the way it is built. I have to buy a type r rotor and cable. This sucks, it is going to be another $50

It was like 5 years ago when I did it. So maybe I don't remember correctly. I may have used a pulley and bracket off a spare b16 we had laying around. I know for a fact I didn't spend an extra penny aside from an intake manifold and throttle body gasket.

Instead of buying the type r parts I am going to fabricate a new bracket for what I already have. My only problem is that the bracket is so tall it makes the cable hit the hood. So if I make a new bracket that is lower but the same distance from the throttle rotor it should cure my problem.

My strut bar is also off and I can't put it on backwards. Making the new bracket lower will also solve that problem!
