Default park brake cord and my new sony headunit

hey all.

my new sony cdx-m9905x headunit arrived from the usa in the post today. i was going to install it tomorrow but have a quick question about one of the wires i need to connect. this model has a full colour tft screen so you can playback movies on. the video playback function is only available if the handbrake is on. you need to splice into the handbrake sensor and add this green wire from the headunit. would this just be a ground wire? meaning i could run the parking brake wire straight to my ground or would this be looking for some kind of voltage? i'm in no hurry to try out either without your guys opinions

any ideas would be appreciated

ch0g</TD></TR></TABLE> It needs to see a ground, you can't just ground it, it needs to be switched,[turn HU on apply E brake] this is a safety thing, bypassing it, and haveing video on when driveing, will get you a undue care and attention ticket here in Canada, about a $300 fine and 6 points on your DL, I don't know what it is in the USA or where you are, BTW I don't know of any law in Canada that says you can't watch TV when you are driveing, but there are laws about driveing with undue care and attention. 94

If a cop pulls you over, you can always turn it off...he won't be able to prove anything.

When I went on some long trips with my friends, we took a laptop or a small tv and watched movies...no one cared to stop us
