Default My new gsr to itr setup.

Well it all started with a great deal on a complete 00 USDM itr head. I bought the head with the intention of reselling it, but I had a gsr in a eg hatch that was consuming a lot of oil and decided to keep the head and rebuild the gsr. I wanted to do things right so I bought the following parts.

itr throttle body
itr intake manifold
itr pistons and rods (Wish I would have got jdm itrs or ctrs now)
DC 4-1 gsr header.
vafc to bring the vtec crossover up to 5800 instead of 4400.

Well the new setup runs great. I ran 163 hp to the wheels with stock 92 si exhaust, k&n bolted directly to throttle body, and running extremely rich (was using chipped p28 to raise vtec to 5800).

I now have my CAI installed again, a vafc running with a p72 ecu, and am about to get a new exhaust. I can't wait to go back to the dyno and do some vtec and fuel tunning. This new setup is much quicker than the old gsr setup. Some anti honda friends of mine now have some respect for what a b series can do in a hatch. They sit there in the passanger seat talking trash and quickly shutup shortly after vtec pops. Their face goes from to ..

I am thinking cams or higher cpr pistons nexts. Opinions?

Special thanks to Dan of Sherwood for the custom coolent outlet.

Nice setup, I went from a gsr to a itr motor as well in my dc2 chassis. I went with a jdm motor though. I think you should keep the bottom end the way it is since you just had it built, replacing the pistons isn't cheap.

Can the ITR valve train take the higher lift after market cams such as S2S2 or Toda Bs?

it's reccomended that when you go more aggresive than toda A's you upgrade your valvetrain to go along with it. i've seen some people running stock valvetrain with toda B's...but those cams really love to be revved to 9k, and i'm not sure how confident i would be with a stock valvetrain doing that daily.
