Default Rocket Motorsports cams?

In regards to this thread https://honda-tech.com/zero...age=1 they were briefly mentioned. I have never heard of these until today when my buddy informed me that he was buying a hatch that has an ITR motor running these cams. Does anyone, has anyone, used or currently familiar with these.

I did some searching and they are more popular on other boards then in here......i even read, (and this was ones opinion of course), that they are probably one of the better cams available. I am merely trying to gather some insight from you guys on whether or not you are familiar with them, and if so your thoughts. Unfotunately i cannot even begin thinking about purchasing cams, so this is not some easy way of trying to get a decision out of you guys.

Plus......i wear the pants in this relationship so dont try and flame biatches.......lol . All comments welcome

I had them hondata tuned in my 98spec JDM ITR motor and this is what I got. Keep in mind this is a fairly UN-healthy motor which consumes a lot of oil even under light driving. Also, the cams were never degreed so they could be fairly "off". The other graph (RED) you see is a GSR motor with skunk stage 1's.

I am waiting until my new block is built and the cams are degreed before I dyno them again. I have no baseline dyno of the stock motor, but I can safely say that the low #'s are related to my oil burning issues and not the cams.

Tbone is also running Rocket's M24's I believe.

EDIT: also look at the air temperature #'s and the correction factors...a 95 degree day *should* yield a correction factor of at least 1.05...however it didnt
</TD></TR></TABLE>If I read this correctly... this is 2 seperate motors???? If this is so, why the hell even make a comparison? the red graph doesn't even look tuned,

I really don't think it's a good idea to publish a graph like that as testimony of the Rocket cams.

They're not dialled in, they're not tuned, and you admit the motor's not healthy. LOL...

Just not a good example.

I just heard of these cams yesterday, they are new to me as well....I checked out m24x.zeroforum.com and saw a few different dyno graphs, one in particular that caught my eye was their M24 Vs. Jun 3's...

http://m24x.zeroforum.com/zerothread?id=730

Says the M24's put out 5HP more or something....makes me wonder, since I am running 3's....

Any dyno tests, or could you get him to come here and talk about them? Which cams does he have? M22? M24?

there have been many discussions and tests of the cams, the problem Rocket had more recently was actually getting them ground by his source.

I had several customers lined up but they had to buy Jun III's when one day the cams all of the sudden weren't available anymore. I haven't checked up in the past weeks to see if that situation has changed.

In the mean time, the Buddy Club cams seem to be the new flavor of the month.

Its been a while since ive posted here on HT but what better topic then this one. (moved on to RM actuallly lol)

I will hopefully have my car running this weekend, i will be running RM products

This will be going on my ITR with stock bottom end, that had JUN3's before. So a comparrison will be made very soon..hopefully by next week, the 17th of sept.

Any questions regarding RM products you can PM me with, and i will be happy to help you with what i can. I am NOT a RM dealer so chances are i wont be able to "hook you up" with a good price, but will direct you to the numerous HT sponsors who are Dealers for RM.

RM gets a from me
Robert gets ..

Would you by any chance happen to know if Rocket is using a different machinist company, now, or is he still using the one with which he started producing the cams?

I can safely say that the M22's are a kickass set of cams. The set that we have is ryan's old set of M22's. No empirical evidence again, but that should change, there's a dyno day coming up, on a dynodynamics dyno. It won't be a fair test, simply because we're running a 2.0 with low compression. Either way, i'll try to have the numbers and the setup for y'all soon. But from what we had before with a b19/"taiwanese" hytech header/kteller 2.5" piping/10.8:1CR and other stuff, it kept pulling and kept MAKING horsepower past 8700 rpm. There's a video of our car floating around somewhere on honda-tech or m24x.zeroforum.com.

I'd take RM products, cams, valvetrain any day of the week. His products are amazing, and he is even more amazing.

If you'd like the illustrated version of his camshafts in a B series, take a look at this...

Edit: That being said, for those of you interested in tuning, you should pay the m24x forum a visit. A lot of great and skilled persons reside there!
