You can pretty much do any B-series swap and the accord has a rare JDM B20A DOHC Engine available as well. If you get a B16A-B18C etc you will need to get the mounts, axles, harness and accesories from Place Racing Inc. The Jdm accord B20A not to be mistaken with the CRV B20 or the 88-91 Prelude B20A is rated at 160HP and 140Ft/lbs of torque. This will be a direct swap as long as you get the JDM rear mount but this engine is rare and its even harder to find a 5 speed at that. As for the other B-series swaps there are a handfull of guys that have done them and its a nice swap but is more work than the average swap. You should check out http://www.3geez.com and read the engine swap forum so you can see whats in your budget and what you want out of your car.

Not worth doing the swap, just stick w/ it as a daily driver and get yourself something new.

I have no idea why this guy said this. The B series is a great candidate for the 3rd gen Accords. As stated above check the 3geez website. Tons of info there.

Iv done 2 of the swaps a B16 and a B18 and overall its not real bad but you have to get all the stuff from Place Racing and they are not the best to deal with. This is what drives the swap up in cost for us since no other motor besides the JDM Accord B20A will bolt in. If you want the cheapest swap then start looking for a JDM B20A and find a 5speed. Its a very nice swap and has decent power 160hp but the torque is where its the best at just under 140 ft/lbs. There are many pros and cons to both swaps but you have to ask yourself what your looking for. If your car is a daily driver hands down i would get the B20A for simplisity and ease of swap. On the other hand if you want to build your engine and dont want to be limited to parts then get the newer b-series. A friend of mine that has done his LS/Vtec has worked out all the issues with Place Racings wiring harness so its less of a hastle than it was. PRI is not very reliable and if you go that route get everything you need prior to the swap. They did mess up the wiring on the B16 swap i helped with so it had issues starting until that was fixed. But still read up and make your own decision if you still want to do the swap. If you have money hands down i would get a B18C and work off of that just because of your choice of parts. I am a little over a year into my turbo project on my JDM B20A and parts were limited but i got every part i needed but i was limited to brands and sometimes paid more for something because of lack of selection.

Oh and the only swap you can do and retain your factory computer would be the B20A. It will lower the hp a little bit since its not the right mapping but it will work fine and many have done that. Some people are running 88-91 Prelude B20A5 Ecu's to get the right mapping. If you do a B16, B18 etc you will need the ECU for sure.
