well technically any b series transmission will fit. there is zero difference between the ls and gs tranny. only one with a difference is the gsr ys1. The easiest for an lsd for the price would be a b16 transmission, its also short geared.

Yes, as previously stated, any B-series will physically fit, but you will have to worry whether or not it is a hydraulic or cable transmission. You will have to do the necessary modifications to change it over to a hydraulic one.

As for the LSD, it depends what LSD you want to put in. All OEM Honda LSD's are made for 4.400 final drive equipped cars. The LS/GS transmission does NOT have this (they have 4.266). You will have to swap out the countershafts and the differentials for this to work.

If you go with an aftermarket LSD, you will have to make sure and specify what transmission you have.

well i have the b16 ys1 white sticker tranny with quaife LSD and let me tell you , i have real short gears its good for racing or short term road trips , but not for long ones at 75mph im in 5th gear at 5000 rpm my car red line is 9000 so its okay i can go up to 130mph but i don't think you want to be in 5000-to-9000 for a really long time , and the ls and gs have no difference , what
i would do and what i want to do is put a ls 5th gear in my tranny , thats the best way to do it and , its hard trying to change over you car to hydraulic so get a jdm 16 tranny
