Default Got faded window moldings? This might help!

Here is an idea for those who want to make their moldings look new again. For those who don't like to paint and deal with overspray and stuff this is easier and cheaper.

My friend gave me a roll of this molding tape that you can get at your local checker autoparts store. He got it where the pin-striping area is. I guess its like $3 bucks for a roll more than you need.

This tape is pretty much like electrical tape, except it is much thinner and it flexes well. It sticks very well too! I guess it can sustain water good, but I have not tested it yet. The width is perfect on our 4 gens/CRXs, I did not have to cut it thinner at all, just cut to length. Here are the results.

I don't know the durabilty on this molding tape, but I'm sure it will last a while.

That looks good. If it lasts, that's a great remedy to weathered moldings and beats the crap out of losing a body part to Honda for new ones...

looks good for a quick fix... i've been looking for something like that to patch up a small worn spot on my steering wheel. do you think it would work for that too?

i bought all new moldings from honda for my project rex... i was surprised, the prices weren't as bad as i expected, though still a little high. but you get what you pay for!

Another option although a bit more expensive is to get them new.
A friend of mine used to work at a Honda dealer and I bought every piece of trim that the CRX uses. This picture shows about half of it. I can't find the other one.
That stuff is still available from the dealer.

You should have smoothed out the cracking before putting the tape on cause you can see the texture through the tape.

$300 not worth it IMO, with that 300 I can buy more important stuff, like tires and such, Ill just stick to the $3 idea

$300 is worth it to have your crx lookin like it came out of the dealer. especially if its stock looking and has really clean paint. In bout to buy brand new moldings on mine and brand new mirrors. Im a hardcore rex fan what can i say.

that tape looks easy enough, unless you feel like tearing your door apart, and going to honda
