okay well pulled the head out to do some work on it.... put it back on. Then I had a OBD1 dx ecu because i let a friend use my skunk P28. Just got the P28 back and floored it..... and nothing. It just redlined to 8 and i didnt even hear VTEC at all or even feel. The car felt like it was struggling going to 8.... now anyone?

There is a oil filter screen (in the head?) to protect the Vtec components, if the screen is clogged there won't be enough oil pressure to make the VTEC work.
Also check the VTEC solinoids. GL

cels?
Did you let the car warm up? It won't go into Vtec till its warmed up.
Did you plug everything back up?
Check your grounds by your Vtec Pressure Sensor, and solenoids.

First of all your an idiot. Did you even read what Archidictus wrote??? what exactly was done to the head? and you should even be working on a car if you dont know what a Check Engine Light is.
Why dont you take it back to the place that pulled off your head in the first place and tell them it isnt working because it sounds like you shouldnt be touching it.

Check the connections to your vtec solenoid (cylinder right by the distributor) I had my swap done and the clip came lose and i lost vtec so just check that first and if that doesn't work you might be low on oil and it can't build oil pressure.

okay well my CEL didnt come on at first. Found out that the VTEC solenoid gasket was blocked with gunk. Got a new gasket. VTEC worked perfect. Okay now I just came home from driving and now the CEL is on now and my VTEC doesnt work and it seems like the car is having a hard time getting to redline.
