Default best way to go all motor?

i just got a 2003 civic lx, i know its nothing big but it beats the hell out of a s-10 blazer, anyways i was just wonderin what the best route to take for runnin it all motor, i know an engine swap is in in order for it, i was thinkin of a k20a, i know it should be almost a straight drop but i don't wanna hafta spend $6000 on it.i just recently started gettin into the race scene so i still don't know that much but would a b series engine work in my 03 civic? if so then what engine would you guys suggest for me and what should be done to it. if you feel like being generous could you also tell what the parts would do because i really want to learn more about how the engine works. thanks alot guys for helpin me out!

not trying to be a dick, but if you donts know how an engine works yet, stick with your stock engine for now,and just buy the usual bolt ons for it.I suggest you do alot of research on engine tech/swaps before doing anything, because if you dont know how to do that stuff by your self and pay someone else to do it for you,you might get ripped.

also,visit howstuffworks.com
