Default Engine light on, gas mileage low...

I added some more oil other day, and few days later i went and start the car.... the car first started to shake a little bit.. then I realize the engine light won't turn off. it is yellow right now..... I haven't check the ECU... don't really know how.

What do u think might be wrong with it? it is hard to guess.... cause I did add 1/3 of a quart to it. It's my LS. i thought put it here cause R ppl tend to be more mechanical knowledgable.

Thanks.

if you don't know how to check the ecu codes, bring the car to someone who does (like the dealer).

Make sure that you didn't overfill the oil also...

pull the code then post back...it could be anything until you do that. If you don't know how to pull the code, search the archives for how to do it, or take your car to a shop and have them do it.

Thanks guys

I check the ECU, it is 71

71 for
94+ Integra

Cylinder 1 Misfire or a Random Misfire a condition is present that is creating a cylinder misfire

what's that?

The car pretty much drive normal, but MPG is decreasing.. Does it mean it only using 3 cyclinders?

i could be a number of things. could be a faulty map sensor dumping to much fuel, a fouled spark plug, a sticking injector, could be a ignition or fuel delivery fault.

when was the last time you changed the plugs? pull the plugs, check it, then check the plug wire (w/ a multimeter if you have one), then replace the cap/rotor. Start w/ the inexpensive stuff.

Replace the spark plug in cylinder one, then go from there.

check and/or replace the following if necessary:
plugs
wires
distributor cap & rotor

reset ecu, then go from there. These parts are cheap - go to your local dealer, or acuraautomotiveparts.net for a good deal...

but honestly you came on so smart sounding then you said you didnt know where the ecu was ok? understandable. but honestly if you dont know where the spark plugs are you dont need to have the hood up i mean its dangerous under there it could fall on you. haha jackass

.....iirc my bad mileage problem and CEL came from bad primary o2 sensor.

If you are getting less than 220 miles per tank, replace the primary o2 sensor.
