Default Engine Trans on an 1987 EX accord 3 door

I have the above car and it's blown the trans completely, it's a 2000 single carb motor with an F4 trans now can I either

1: Put the 2000 SI motor and Trans from an 85 Prelude in I have the whole car for parts

2: put the 1800 twin carb motor and 5 Speed from an 87 Prelude I have the whole car for parts

3: change the Auto to the K5 5 speed manual

4: Put in a new f4 (this would be easiest i know) But what would be the best for a "fun Fast Car?"

Im not sure on your location but you have a few options. The cheapest would be to use the 87 prelude parts as its a direct swap to the accord. As for the 5 speed part of it the shift linkage and pedal assembly might not be the same as the accord but you should be able to get them cheap at a local junk yard. If you have the JDM or European version of the Accord B20A i would definatly consider that since its 160hp and 140 ft/lbs of torque. But fining a 5 speed at least in the US is very hard since many of them were automatics. But you can even use the automatic and it certainly would be better than what you have now. You should go to http://www.3geez.com thats pretty much the best forum for the 3rd generation accords and there is a lot of information for you to read up on.

its a pity that it's so expensive to get the manual boxes from here to you as I can find and also own quite a few of the older Prelude 5 speeds also have a gold top 2.0SI motor and trans, motor only done about 90000 miles and will probably end up as scrap , along with most oftheother stuff is a pity
