a couple tips:
NO flash, ever, when shooting car pics. If there's not enough light to hand-hold the camera and get a good exposure, use a tripod w/ a longer exposure. A camera's flash is only good out to maybe 15 ft. or so, but since the camera thinks the flash is adding enough light, it makes the exposure shorter, which makes most of the pic (beyond the flash range) too dark.
Be wary of sharp contrast, i.e. bright sunlight and shadows. If the sun is bright, any shadows will look really dark since the camera is metering off that sunlight and closing the lens aperture down and using a fast shutter speed.

thanks for the tips! but like i said im trying to get better, and im no professional and dont know what like half that means. but thanks for helping me, i will talk to my GF mom about it, its her camera and shes the photo lady. Prolly go do another shoot this weekend so we will see if they get better. Thanks for the advice!!
