Airbag question - need some advice - 2000 airbag in a 1997 Gsr

What up peeps...I gotta a 97 and I got a 2000 steering wheel and airbag...so it's now leather wrapped and the airbag isnt "ACURA" anymore it's the "A" so anyways, changed it and the SRS light is on...is it just a reset? or is the airbag not compatible with my car....newer airbag...older car?
