Keihin, Sanden, or matsushita???
An air conditioning guy looked ay my car and told me I had a Keihin A/C Compressor in it, but the only references I have been able to find online say honda used either Sanden or Matsushita compressors on civics in 1990.
Can anybody shed a little light on what compressors honda used? I have a 1.5 engine if that helps.

well....not to be a smart *** but..if someone already looked at it..and told you it was a Keihin..it probably is..i would have to assume the original compressor went bad and had to be replaced...did you try http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com
try that and see if it gives any help

When I got my AC system overhauled in my 1990 hatchback STD, also with a 1.5 liter engine, the shop I take my car to - Arrowwood Automotive, a Honda/Acura shop that's been around for almost 20 years - replaced my old compressor with a Matsushita. It's been great. Cold air.

well, I thought I has figured out I had a matsushita, based on the number of grooves on the pulley. Now I just don't know. This is a picture of the top of my compressor. It's certainly not a Matsushita, does anybody have a picture of a sanden? If I do have a Keihin, does anybody know where I can find one? none of the air places I have found even list them as an option.
EDIT:
I just found a picture of the sanden online. I think we have a winner! I love my AC guy, but it looks like he blew it this time. That's why I asked the question.

You must not live in Texas...
YA'LL will have to forgive me for the bug in the picture, I've only had the car for 6 days, and between getting parts lined up for the A/C, the timing belt job it needs, and bnow I find out it needs a clutch job, I've been too busy to detail it out.
All dead bodies will be disposed of in due time...

i have a b16a swap, and a jdm header, there wasnt enough room to install the heder without taking the compressor out, when i did that i lost my precious r12 freon, well r12 freon is ******* expensive, so i opted out. It really isnt that bad, it sucks in june and july but when august hits you only have a few more weeks of hot and then ur good to go for the rest of the year
I just bought a revhard turbo kit that will require complete removal of the ac system as well, so as long as i am unable to sell my turbo kit, this car will never have ac.

Only 1984-1987 Civics and CRXs used a Keihin compressor.

I don't know about you. But I would rather not feel drained, feel sick, smell bad, and be drenched with sweat just because I took a 15 minute drive.

Not only that, but some of us are 35 year old school teachers, and we use our hondas to take our 8 year old son to school, and our baby daughter to the grocery store. We don't buy hondas to trick them out and go looking for street races. We like our hondas for reliable transportation, and we like air conditioning for it's ability to make the Texas summer a little more bearable.

I also posted a video you can find what's lie inside Keihin Compressor. Mine was wrecked after 6 years of normal daily usage. My CRV KM was around 138.000 at the time this compressor died.
And here is the video:
