Yup, should work just fine.....just need to swap over your OBD1 throttle body I beleive.....In order to make the VTEC work you will need an EX wiring harness and ecu.....or some sort of VTEC controller and wire that up to the solenioid. A few other things as well, but those are the basics.

Wont work, your pistons have too big of a dish. You need to swap out the entire motor.

what this clown means is that it most certainly *WILL WORK*, only you wont see that much performance increase because of the drop in compression ratio.

Unless you wanted to get some high comp. pistons and do the motor up....I would say just look for a D16z6 swap.....they can be had fairly cheap, tranny and all......I would say to go that direction

if you were to swap in the pistons and rods from a z6 or y8 or D15B it should work jsut fine. otherwise the VX has hella dished pistons and your comp would so low.....
and fyi the reason why the D15z1 has normal compression is due to very small combustion chambers and the large dish of the pistons just evens everything out.
So if you put a z6 head on a z1, the larger combustion chambers will give you **** compression. Changing the pistons and rods is a must for that set-up. And you must change out pistons and rods not just one or the other.
*edit* in my mind this all makes sense but I'm very exhausted, so correct me if i'm wrong or said something wierd

If you still would like further information on this. Ask Spade on this website. He is possibly the best D series guy we have on Honda-tech.
