I remember back in the day that Gary Kubo used to build 1.9 liters out of B16 block, using B17 crank and rods, is this true?

 

i think you would need 86mm bore and it would be a little under 1.9, anywho not sure if its true.

So thats what i thought, here is another question, Im gonna use a B17 head with June 3s, what would be the highest compression pistons I can use without the valves hitting the pistons on the dyno, when they retard/advance the timing on Jun 3s, Thanks a lot guys.

i doubt anyone could actually answer that seeing as how a few things make up compression and volumes, try something and clay it. if its too small compression the mill the head or thin up the h gasket.
