tranny swap starting problem
I swaped in manual in a d17 everything is completed except the clutch master cylender. Now I am trying to figure out what to do about:
a). the auto tranny had a park position switch ran through the shifter the car will not start unless it is in park so I think that I need to loop that signal.
b). The clutch has two position switches on them (so your car will not start unless the clutch is pressed in) what wires do I use for this?? On the clutch that I have the conectors were cut so I have them, but I can not find the same colors. Is it the same wires that tell the car that it is in park on a auto??
c.) Have I altered anything else that will prevent it from starting. There are like five conectors that ran to the auto tranny that are not being used any more. Will the ECU not let the car start if it is geting no signal from the tranny??
Thanks for your help

A. Just loop it, should be fine but I really dont know.
B. You could loop this so its always on aswell, so its like a remote start feature. Or I could be confused with what your dealing with.
C. Im only guessing youll need a 5 spd ecu. So youll be getting a cel more then likely. Same thing as above im not proficient with the 7th gen's as well as the 5th gen's.

i was gonna say the same thing. u need to change out the ECU to a 5psd one. the settings on the auto are different than the 5spd. just loop the signal. did that for a 5spd conversion in a 6th gen civic.
