Price of fender and paint
whats up. so today im drive n down the street and im at a stop light. theres a lady in a hyndai on the left hand side of the street with her left turn signal blinking. so im thinking she's gonna be makeing a left turn. so i pull to the right of her planning on going straight. the light turned green and i went straight and then the bitch makes a right turn from the left hand side of the road with her left turn signal still blinking!!!! i started honking and swerved to the right to avoid the hit but she still hits my fender and front bumper. she keeps on going still hitting me and pushing me to the side. she finally stops and i get out my car. my whole driver's side fender is dented in and bumper's a little scratched up. and the only damage she had was a punctured tire!!!!!
i was sooooo pissed off. but to make a long story short, i got $300 bucks from her for the accident. no insurance company's were involved. thank god!!!!
there was no frame damage, only drivers side fender needs to be replaced. it also needs to be painted and so does the front bumper.
i just wanna know how much will a stock drivers side fender go for plus painting it and the front bumper. nothing over $300 right?
by the way, i will be installing everything myself, so no labor charge

Y the hell u didnt call yur insureance???? wtf only got 300?!??! tats how much it whould cost to paint yur bumper alone. wait, how bad is the bumper anyways? and fender yur talkin about, if theres no frame dmg, u r lucky!!!! lol im thinkin the way u sayin only 300, the dmg was not tat bad. right? do u have pics? posts them up here, lets look at the victum. bc my front bum alone cost 300 to paint and prim and put 2 more coats of paint on it, altogether the whole car cost near 800,but then again i do know some one. lol
It only costed me 250 bucks for my front bumper and ITR lip to be painted and that was at the most reputable shop in my area. Who the hell are you guys getting prices from? Go elsewhere.....unless you wanna pay that kinda money.
Also, im sure you can pick up a fender for cheap from a junkyard or perhaps online (maybe someone bought some Z3 fenders or something). Just search around. I think you might be dancing around $500 when all is said and done.
The insurance company really doesn't need to be bothered on this minor infraction, you got some money so i'd be happy with that. Now it just sucks that you have to repair that **** and it wasn't even your fault. Life sucks sometimes....

well i didnt call my insurance cuz my insurance will go up as well. i didnt wanna end up paying a few hundred extra a year.
only the fender got smashed in. got smashed pretty bad so i will need a new one. i also need a new bracket that holds the bumper and the fender. my boy owns a shop and he can get the fender for around $40 and the bumper didnt get damaged alot only a slight grazing, no deep marks. also he deals with a paint shop and gets all his cars painted there. so i might get the paint for cheap. I just need to get the fender painted and the front bumper. my car is black, so color match might not be such a big problem....right?
i'll post pics when i get home today from school.
thanks for the info on pricing. shoulda got $400 from her then.... shucks

My dad can paint your car if you want, over 35 years of experience. He does half the price of normal body shops. But a bumper is like 500 and fender is 350 at a proffesional shop. If the fender is dented then it will be bonded, sanded down, painted, clear coated it, and buffed out. Insurance gave way to less. Call them up and explain that you want your car reblended to match the paint so you need money for hood, fender, right side door, and the front bumper. Just repaint the fender and half the bumper ( with some good clearcoating and buffing) and then spend the money n some performance parts.

i just called my friend who has close ties with a body shop. he said that they will charge me $300 to get my WHOLE car painted. they have a 2 year warranty on the paint. so i might just do that... get the whole car painted. it kinda needs it too. the hood has alot of swirls and i need to get rid of my pinstripes

arent you going to have to buy a new fender anyways? seems like it will cost over the $300 she gave you. if you get lucky you may find a black fender at a junk yard, no paiting necessary...i saw this one a while back in the classifieds: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=958638. not a great deal, but a start
thanks again guys for the info. A member here might sell me a fender, so im gonna check him out as soon as he responds back to me.
keystone makes decent parts but I would get OEM, nothing fits like OEM, and for 40 bucks I know you are not getting a OEM fender. As far as painting goes I would be very suspcious of the quality of work for $300 for the whole car the paint alone would cost about 200 for decent paint and that sounds way to cheap unless you really know this guy and he is doing you a serious favor. As far as black goes it can be tricky to match but it is possiable to only paint the fender and have it match if you have a good painter. Most shops like to paint parts around damaged area like the bumper, door and hood, and usaually charge way to much. Be sure to see some of the guys first, redoing bad work is expensive. You can look for texture or debry and craters in the clear and look at to see if the color matches and look to see how the parts line up compare with the right. Like they said up top shop around If you look you can find a good shop and a good price. Just remember when it comes to paint and body work you gte what you pay for.
