Does anyone out there currently run the H&R Cup Kit on their EK? I know it's great set up, but I've never seen it on a Civic. Would you mind posting up some pictures if you have them? Thanks.

Because you don't need to overbuy suspension components if you're just driving your Civic on the street. Get some KYB AGX's, Tein S-tech coil springs and a good rear swaybar and call it a day. I road race on that combo and pull some nice handling, so I'm sure it'll work out for your street car.

I'm sure your opinion is an educated one. An opinion that is backed by vast suspension experience. I'm also sure that many people on this site have paid more than $600 for Koni Sports and lets say...Tein, Eibach, Neuspeed, H&R, or even Tanabe springs. I mean let's get serious. The average consumer (not the high-speed, group buy, shop-around kind of techies like you and me) will likely pay over $500 for the exact suspension set-up you have. With that being said, is $570 shipped for an H&R Cup Kit considered overbuying?

damn 570?
sick deal!!
yes the H&R cup kit is koni yellows and h&r springs but the shocks have been valved to h&r's specs to match the springs.
so in a way its alittle bit better its alittle bit cheaper too then to buy koni yellows and h&r springs separate

It must not be too popular of a set-up within the H T community. According to the H&R website, the Cup Kit is a bit lower than the H&R Sport springs, but I imagine that has to do with the height adjustability of the re-valved Koni Sport shocks.

They definitely have dampening adjustability, according to the H&R website. I've seen pictures of the kit from archived classifieds listings and they all show the Koni adjustment ****, just like the Yellows. The pics also clearly show the three height adjustment ridges in the shock body.

they are...they just matched the damp[ening capabilities to the springs to give it the best combo possible. This is a great street setup for the cost. You get a progressive rate spring, which some may not like for racing purposes...you get slight ride adjustment and you get a VERY well proven damper. Later on in life, you can always order a GC sleeve setup made for Yellows and swap the springs out for a ERS/GC combo for a more aggressive setup

Wow...I didn't know that you could get them for that little. You're absolutely right that for $570 you'd be better off buying them than cobbling together a kit like I'm running. I'm not used to seeing rate-matched suspension components go for such low cost.
Good deal, man: buy that ****

The H&R Cup Kit is a superior value IMO. My friend just got his set about a week ago and loves them. The handling is very tight now on his '92 hatch at the expense of some ride comfort but I'm sure with some fiddling it'd be a lot better.

IME, the kit is great for the street car. It IS pretty stiff. I asked about you autocrossing because of the spring rates. I HEARD the springs are the same as their race springs. I HEARD their race springs are 450/270. The car does love to plow, but great in the slalom. I'm toying with the idea of going with some GCs and my own spring rates.
