not getting any fuel
I just recently installed a b16 into a 90 integra. But for some reason, she will not crank. Ive noticed that it isnt getting any fuel to the fuel rail, by checking the fuel filter. My question is; Is there a way to check/test the fuel pump to see if it is operating properly. WHen i turn the key, i dont notice a sound or anything coming from the pump. But im not sure where to check 1st. Any suggestions?
peace,
peace,
I had similar problems. Check to make sure the alternator wiring is good (the plug that goes in there is all the way in/not falling out). Get a multimeter and check to see if theres voltage going across the ECU at the Power Source and Power Grounds on the ECU. If there isn't, the pump won't come on. Theres also a fuel pump fuse in with all the lighting and other fuses (I believe its a 7.5Amp fuse). If none of those fix it, it could also be the main relay or even the pump itself.

Lack of fuel pressure has nothing to do with the engine not cranking. That's the starter, or the big power or ground cables. (Unless you meant the engine cranks but doesn't start...)

correction. It will turn over, but wont actually start though. In thinking its something to do with either the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay. ive disconnected the fuel filter and tried cranking, but no fuel came. So im assuming thats the direction i need to look in first.

You can go back to the fuel pump wiring & verify that it's getting power for 2 seconds when you turn the key on (not start). If it's getting power but the pump isn't running, you need a new pump.
If it's not getting power, then go up to the main relay & check there. If the main relay is OK then look for a break in the wiring back to the pump.
Meanwhile, check to make sure you're getting spark while cranking. Just in case you have other things going on...
