h22 egr valve
I have a 2000 H22 IN A 94 accord. I am throwing a code 12 which is the egr valve. Their are several different parts with the egr stuff like the postion sensor and so on. I was wondering if anyone can tell me what i might need to replace if they have had this problem.
The car will idle fine, but once i hit about 4000 rpm it just dies and sputters really bad. I was told that this is b/c of the egr valve. Also some guy that i was telling me about it also said that it happened to his friend and that his speedometer wasnt working either until he put in a new egr valve. How could this affect it?
Thanks and any info will be helpful.

The engine should run fine without the EGR valve connected. The EGR valve is there for emission purposes. Check to make sure that your EGR valve is not stuck open. I assume you're not running a vacuum line from the intake plenum to the EGR vacuum nipple? If you are, you're a fool. Disconnect it NOW.
Sounds like you have other probs...could possibly be wiring. You're installing an OBD2 engine into an OBD1 chassis. I've seen way too many people screw up on the wiring and PCM choice.
Check the basics.
Good luck.

thanks for the help everyone....i will try and let you know if it worked to clean it first. I also say in another forum that another guy was having the same problem as me and he said it was his MSD ignition...wondering if anyone else has heard of this happening.

i have an msd ignition and have had no problems - though people do forget to re-attach the egr vavle wire harness back on the egr vavle when installing the blaster SS coil - and when the harness is not plugged in, you'll throw code 12.
