Default D16Y8 tranny

Does the D16Y8 tranny bolt on to D15B engine?

What exactly do you mean by this? And can you please explain your logic.

My bad, I skimmed it and for some reason in my mind I was thinking he wanted to use a y8 tranny instead of a D15B tranny.
So then my logic was, its the same gear ratios and almost the same tranny except the y8 has a steel shift fork and some D15B's have an lsd, so why not stay with a D15B? but like i said, I skimmed it and got the wrong message

Right now I am acutally using D15B7 tranny, which as super long gear ratio. when I hit 80 I am still in second gear. From the specs that I have read, D16Y8 have 4.25 final gear ration which is shorter than my current tranny's final gear ratio.

my car is d16y8 and i have that transmission of course...

from my experiences this is how fast you can go in each gear (at redline, which is 7k in my civic)...

1st - cant remember
2nd - 59mph
3rd - 90mph
4th - 122mph (governed here, at 6900 on tach... still 100rpm to go) so i figure 125mph
5th - 125+ until you have no more power

i guess maybe ill take first to redline later today and update this later... i think its like 32mph or something...

this really has nothing to do with your question but just thought id let you know how fast i can take each gear...
