Default Honda Civic LX 1998

stopped fpr gas - turned off engine - then when I tried to start, the engine would not turn over - everything sounds like it should but the engine doesn't kick in - removed wore from cap - no spark from cap to wire. Hoping it is the coil. Can the tming belt effect the spark in any way if it broke? Took cap off - everything is clean - no burn marks.
Thanks for your help

Make sure that everything is cool with the starter. It's possible that a wire is loose, beyond that, there are any number of other possibilities. Sounds like you need to invest in a good multimeter.

I think the starter is ok - sounds like it is trying to turn over - just not getting spark to the plugs
