I'm an itr owner and post mostly in that forum, but since I see there really isn't a dedicated forum for the 99-00 si, I figured I'd post here. Mods please move if necessary....
The guys at Korbach sent me an evaluation set of their frame locks for the 99-00 si to do some objective testing.
I put them on a mildly modded si (user "jaesun") and have done some ride evaluations.
You can tell they affect responsiveness of the vehicle immediately after taking your first turn.
The turn in is much more pronounced and immediate. My buddy was actually kind of scared after the install because he felt like the car was too easy to turn compared to before. And without being used to them, he was afraid he'd turn too hard when driving at speed on the hwy and switchin lanes.
Install was a major PITA because I have a drill sooooo old, and it doesn't have reverse on it. Also I didn't wear gloves and with short sleeves the metal shavings were flying everywhere and cutting the **** out of me.
I have made some editing of the manual and will send those back to them asap to be included. I took a bunch of pics too and will post up the full review soon.
The quality of the parts and way they are packaged goes beyond ANY parts that I have purchased previously - domestic or import. I can tell lots of engineering and design went into this product.
Bottom line: they work.
Would I buy them? Yes. As soon as they release the dc2 version.

My other complaint: I wanted to slam them on the internet, but I can't figure out how to - the **** works.
I'm trying to get them to make some dc2/ eg versions of the product so we can all enjoy them as well..... Please post up if you're interested in a set for your chassis...

that cool that someone took the time to test it out before dissin it, sayin that it doesnt work. good review and write up!! does the instructions say anythin about this changing the way the bumper support would react in a collision? i've heard some people question that, and since this thread is full of good info i though we could address that also

at $245.00 i think i will stick with buying some $10 1/2" steel and welding it to my frame. it wont be as pretty but will do the same effect and will probably be stronger due to the welds.
dont get me wrong you tested it and i believe you, but for that price and better steering feel/response i would see it being spent somewhere else. but thats just me.
now if they got the price down to say $150-$175 i can see it being an investment. but not $245.00

ive been really intrested in these after reading about them in a few spots.
Though the price i saw was closer to $450, glad it came down.
FYI people: this will fit any 96-00 chasis.
though I dont know about accident damage, I imagine if you are hit from the side, it would be worse, but not much more than if it wasnt there. (the damage would be bad anyways).
Im definatly going to be getting a set.

They're actually 195 until Oct. 1st.
Not a lot of people have access to a frikken welder or are good enough to want to take it to their car, and some might have thought about it enough to figure out that you might need to remove it one day to sell the car or whatever. Maybe also check out the article in HondaTuning that praises the product.
Not jumping on anybody but atleast wait a while before jumping to conclusions and saying they offer no more than a placebo effect.
