rota rims help! how come there's a gap? spacer?
hey... currently i brought a set of rota rims... but when i install it..there's a gap... do i need a spacer? or what do i need to fill in the gap? thanks
my bad... um...there's a gap between the wheel and the brake rotor...so when i put the wheel on..it is lose even when i put bolt on...
I've read about people using something called "Hubcentric Rings?" You might wanna do some search on that. I don't have Rota's nor have I ever. Just trying to point you in the right direction,

nice pick up lines... might have to duck after saying that though... lol, I couldn't resist.

What kind of lugs are u using? Give some specz 4x100 or 5x100 bcuz the offset can be off so it's prolly hub centric rings that you'll need or 12 1.50 small diameter lugz....
Whats so difficult...what information do you need?
Get some hubcentric rings. There is a little bit of a gap. I have had my Rotas for 4 years without rings without any issues, but if it bothers you, get them.

A hubcentric ring isnt going to solve this problem.
All hubcentric rings do is center the wheel on the hub.
It sounds like hes trying to fit a wrong bolt pattern on the car...
We deffinately need a pic or two.

Yeah, I agree. Not having a hubcentric ring won't cause a gap between the wheel and the rotor. Something else is wrong here.
You sure you don't have any crap on the brake rotor? Make sure the mounting surface is clean. Also, are you using the right lugs? I forgot what Rota wheels are, but you might need a tapered lug, or one that has a rounded end. Makes a difference, ya know.

You sure about that? Unless hes running the completely wrong wheel, I think hes just talking about the small gap that is apparent with Rotas on our cars...Ive seen it on Slipstreams and C8's, both the correct pattern.
If the gap is the same all the way around and you can get the lugs up to 80ftlbs, you may be right. Does the wheel sit flat on the hub or is it not touching at all?
But he still does not need hudcentric rings to use the rims.

Really the only way the wheel would be able to fit on the lugs, and yet not touch the brake rotor, is if the wheel's hub bore was too small. Usually aftermarket wheel hub bores are pretty big to accomodate the hubs on all cars, and then a hubcentric ring is used to take up the space between that particular car's hub diamter and the diameter of the wheel's hub bore. But if the bore is too small, the wheel won't fit over the hub and won't seat properly on the brake rotor.
If this isn't the problem, and the wheels are of the correct bolt pattern, there should be no problem getting the wheel to seat against the brake rotor unless there is a physical foreign object between the two, preventing the wheel from seating properly.

Right, like I said Ive been running mine without rings for tons of miles and 4 years, and I havent had any issues. Mine have the same gap...its small, and goes around the hub.

ya..it's small gap around the hub... i believe the wheel is touching the brake rotor... i tried to put the stock lugs in..but seems like it's too big... what kind of nuts do you guys think i need to fit in it?
You need to use tapered nuts as opposed to the stock acorn nuts. You can use the stock nuts if you'd like, but they wont torque properly and they will scratch the wheels. I wouldnt run them. Get a smaller nut like Zenki, Kyokugen, etc and you'll be fine.
