Default chip in Carbon Fiber.

Hey get I have a chip the size of a nickle in my carbon fiber hood on my del sol, it didnt acually do anything to the carbon fiber but the clear coat is gone is there anything I can but in the chip or fill it? any ideas would be hopeful, thanks.

bring it to a body shop...tell them to fix it!

if u have to ask...u shouldnt be doing it yourself!

well in that case...a chip that size is going to be a biznatch...i would sand about 1" around the area of the chip and and mask it off...the clear the hell out of it...

I've had 0 luck trying to blend clearcoat. I've painted/dont body work on quite a few cars, and for me at least, trying to feather out and blend clearcoat is damn near impossible.

yeah thats why i suggested he go to a body shop!

Yeah, but your advice about an inch around it would most likely lead to him having to strip the whole hood down and reclear it IMHO.
