A "Frankenstein" Motor is what a K24/K20 hybrid has been called. Its a CRV bottom end and an RSX Head. Its becoming a popular swap, but more expensive than an LS/Vtec or other B series swap.

Wrong, thats a CRVtec. Frankenstein was named after the K series. Jack (B18CX) was one of the first to do this swap in his EP3.

I've heard that phrase many years ago BEFORE the k-series even came out.

b20 bottom with vtec head (usually b16).

It's when you use pieces (head/block/crank/rods/etc..) from different motors to create a new motor

It's alive, alive I tell U! Man knows what's he's talking about! Got to love Frank Hybrids. Frankenstein is considered a CRV-Tec, but you can make a frankenstein out of any B-Series, K-Series, H-Series, and the mini-me's D-Series.

it likes dr. frankenstein when he created his monster. you are building a "monster" motor in a way. compileld from a bunch of parts from different ****. (ls/vtec is a frankenstein motor, so is b20/vtec or cRvtec, etc)

Same here. I usually associated it with a CRV/Vtec but anything with a mismatched head and shortblock fits the bill I suppose.

WRONG

the word came out well before the K series head swaps.. it all started with the CRVtec setups about 2-3 maybe even 4 years ag0.

someone in the K series will think of their own name.

True. Frankenstein motors have been out before the K series, but with words like CRVtec and Ls/Vtec there was no need to actually call them Frankenstein. The reason the K series was called the Frankenstein is because so far there hasn't been a cool name for it yet. So it depends who you ask, but typically a Frankenstein motor is ANY hybrid motor (parts put together from different motors)

Yea, Frankenstein is basically anything non vtec block mixed with a vtec head and is built so its a lot more powerfull then just a regular vtec motor swap. Yea its NOT ONLY K SERIES, i have k series and have heard it WAY before that and people are still doing it daily with b series motors. D series is just called mini-me just cuz its a weak *** frankenstein.

THE END
Peace
