keyless entry not working.
for some reason after working on the car the keyless entry doesnt work. i checked every fuse in the car. when u hit the lock inside the car everything locks. but doesnt with the remote. i even put a new battery in it. what could be wrong. and where is the box that receives the signal from the remote?
have you by any chance put in an aftermarket headunit? cause that right there would be the prob.
one of my friends had to pay like 100 bucks to have his stock stereo relocated somewhere inside his dash and his new one installed, so he could keep keyless entry.

If you have a 96-98 civic the unit is inside the stock headunit so you have to get a special harness that still gives power to the oem headunit, then you put that oem headunits hehind the dash.(yeah it's ******* ghetto)

ok so i think i got it there is a seperate 16 pin security plug and i believe it has its own power source,. now all i have to do is figure out where im going to out the stock hu. damn is that ghetto.
I own an eh so I'm mot sure if I'm 100% correct about this, but you need your factory radio to program your remote or reprogram as necessary. I guess you could try to wire power directly into the headunit and stuff it in the back of your dash. I've heard that there are connectors and/or adapters that you can use. Another thing I've heard is that there is a connector already on the harness(I'm not so sure about this one but it's what I've heard).
