What CR for Skunk2 Stage3 cams
anything above 12.5 should give you some pretty good numbers.
in my opinion, 12.5 is the compression ratio where stage 2's are still good, but stage 3's are a little better.

Watch for valve-to-piston clearance with a 14.0 : 1 compression ratio when you're at high RPM. I'm not saying it's impossible on a stock crank and headgasket, but plastigauge and putty those pistons and valves before you fire it up

No, not really. But it'll remain with the complete body for now.

So 13.5.1 would be a pretty good in between, right? What about the bore of the block. I'm thinking of sleeving the LS block to 85mm and going with the 13.5.1 CR for now. How's that sound for a first project. Maybe I'll take it to the street once in a while with VP gas, just to see people's faces. HEHE

I had skunk 3 cams in my motor 2.0l gsr with 12.5:1 je 85mm pistons.Head fully built and ported skunk manifold etc.Going to try a set of skunk stage 2's and see how I do.Be carefull when playing with the cams on the dyno as clearance becomes an issue.
How much hp did you get?? Did the cams respond good to timing?? does anyone know the mm a GSR head measures when completely stock?? I'd like to know how much was milled from mine.
The motor made 203 whp with my old setup with the mid endyne roller waves 12.1:1 then broke a piston from an injector going bad.At that time my cams were +4,+4.MY head has also been milled but not sure how much.I hope these skunk 2 stg 2's make good power even though I'am going to a smaller cam.
