Default Fuel Pressure Bad Problem

Ok here is the problem i will start my car and it will run fine and just like normal and then about 15 to 20 minutes of steady driving like on a highway with cruise control set my air/fuel ratio gauge will instead of bouncing back and forth u know will steadily drop to the lean area and eventually just go totally lean and will not let my car run anymore so i shut it off when it does that and wait for about 5-10 minutes and start it back up and it will run fine again for about another 15-20 minutes but i have a fuel pressure gauge installed and when it does go lean i have popped my hood and looked at that and the fuel pressure will be a zero i don't think i have a fuel leak becasue like when it runs fine i can shut the car off and the fuel pressure will hold steady at 40 some psi i was jsut wandering what everyones thoughts on this is i was thinking of replaceing my fuel pump but my dad told me if it was my fuel pump it wouldn't run right fromt he begginning so any imput on what i should do would be greatly apprecieated thanks

maybe o2 sensor? sounds like maybe you're ecu thinks you're running rich and is leaning out the fuel mix until the car stalls...

Could be a plugged fuel filter.

The ECU has no control over fuel pressure, that's gotta be either a clogged fuel filter or even a failing FPR or pump.
