how hard is it to put a head deck on 03-04 accord?
hey guys, as u can see im new here. im planning to get an 03 or 04 accord coupe v6 in a month or so (drives a 93 accord right now, love it so i gotta get another one lol). anyways i was breezing thru some sites to see pix of how u can put an extra head unit in the space that is designed to hold cds. one guy who actually done this said it was kinda trickey because he had to mess with the climate control? anyone done this to their cars yet? thnx in advance
As far as I know you just have to get a few adapters to connect the CD player to your stock headunit. If you actually take the stock one out from what I've heard the car will not run without moving it to the trunk or somewhere. As for fitting it that just all depends on your personal preference you could mount it in the space for CD's or elsewhere. Personally when I get a chance though I'm definately gonna mount my CD player there in my White 03 4cyl Coupe. Oh one last thing if you connect it to your aux you don't even have to pull the stock headunit out just that chamber that holds CD's because the connector for AUX is at the bottom rear of it and easy to find.

Don't need another head unit to run CD's. Even if your current unit is set up for just tape, it will still run a CD changer. Now if your wanting to run a totally new (aftermarket) head unit, ditch the old and just put your new one where that used to sit.
Good luck doing any mods if you get the navigation system. For me, the benefits of nav outweighed swapping out the H/U.
What I was talking about allows you to keep the stock 6 disc in dash CD Changer or Navigation System as well as easily run RCA's out or in an after market head unit you just buy a connector to run into the stock 6 Disc in dash's AUX which is ment for the MP3 player/Tape Deck/ or 8 Disc CD Changer you can choose to get. If you don't get any of them though that leaves the AUX completely free and its easy to hook something up to it with the right adapters. I've seen very few good reviews on them but they do work but seem to have a major problem with ground noise if not tweeked with.
yeah, my friend has an 03 model with teh navigation system and he said that its going to be a pain putting in a system in the car because of the navi. im still thinking whether or not to put subs in it. the reason i want to add a head unit is for mp3 playbacks.
