When I look in consumer it says 127hp vtec hp when i look under the hood it doesn't say vtec on my engine

Is it still vtec?

 

if it is ex it has vtec

 

only the 92-95 civics had the vtec on the valve covers. all 96-00 civic ex's are vtec and if ur not sure look for the vtec soleniod if u know what that is.

yes, your engine code is d16y8, which does have vtach

all along i thought the only 96-00 with vtec was the si models

 

the only Si coupe was 99-00. they have vtec but they're also dual overhead cams. thats the only civic that came with a stock dohc. 96-98 there were no Si's
