s2000 swap?
Does anyone know if there has ever been a s2000 swap into a civic coupe, mainly 96-00? I know there have been in datsun 510's, and even a hatch, but I did not know about the coupe?
ive read about them and people say its so hard cause you have to do so much fabrication to get it to work.. you have to change it all over to rwd and all that.. Itd be a lot easier to just buy an S2000..
I think they just get a fwd tranny to bolt up to the motor, if there isn't one that bolt ons directly. I never heard of such swap and I think the mouts would be the biggest challange. Plus I don't think it's worth it, because you can build a b series that will rape the s2000 motor for that much.
All of that is true, I just hadn't heard of it being done, and I realize a b series could beat it if stuff was done, I just like the s2000 engine. I always that a rear drive civic would be fun.

http://www.hondaforums.com/ind...ry867 It doesnt say too much, but I just based what I said on what I read in that post... I wish I knew more, thatd be awesome to do, just it doesnt sound too practical to me.

why dont u just get a b series motor and swap drivetrain from a CRV? cheaper than s2k swap and u can turbo that bitch.

i'm a bit of a newbie to the tuner scene, but i know that an s2000-civic hatch swap is impossible, the transmissions aren't compatible, and the mounts don't match. but it was a good idea

It was attempted when putting the F20 into a Lotus Elise, Going for Rear Engine/Rear Wheel Drive.
They ended up using the K20a because of more potential.

It is FAR from Impossible.

you're not only a newb but you're also a moron
it is most definitely 110% possible. And it IS a good idea, not was
And why for some reason do I remember seeing a civic on here with one swapped in? I remember very clearly seeing it, maybe I dreamed it

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=974879 read that thread.. people talk about people who did it, along with people who put an nsx engine in a crx. it doesnt say how to do it, just that theyve seen pictures of someone that did it...

Or a K-Series Swap, that will net you low 13's, high 12's with a stock motor.

unless someone gave you both the motor and the car and you have an engineering degree in automotive design and lots of money it's not gonna happen
Secondly that trans swap everyone is mentioning has no U.S equivelant so if you break it your screwed
Thirdly doing outrageous RWD motor swap is hardly new Jackson Racing had a dual engine hatch in the early 90's and one crazy *** guy I think his name was dan something put a NSX engine in the back of a del sol in like 94-95 the problem was without a solid chasis to mount it to like a 510 has ect the car was a fabrication nightmare and would go into donut mode anytime you stepped on it and was abandoned
Taking a look at other recent RWD conversions such as the Honda tuning DC2 you can see how most likely you will end up with a twitchy and relatively unstable ride which will be no fun
If you paying for both the motor and car a used s2000 will be cheaper and can weigh nearly the same for about the same money as the swap will likely cost and it will be much faster

S2000 swap in a civic would be useless, with their light rearends all you would do would be a) not get any traction, b) slide out your *** in the turns, and c) waste tons of money on fabrication to have a car with around 240hp
bad idea, waste of time and money
