My D16Z6 Alternator went out today and i need to kno if only Z6 alt will work or if all D series alternators are interchangable.

I have an Alternator from a 89 civic 4 door with the stock d series motor. Im wondering if i can use that on my Z6

I would think it could be used. I thought most d series stuff was interchangable. Dont do anything yet, get another persons opinion..

Thats what i was thinking... but does anyone else really know?

 

i think its called a "mitsubishi" type alternator
mine went out in the winter and bought a dx alternator and it was different than si
make sure if u do it urself, be patient!
the bottom bolt thats below the alternator was a pain in the *** to take off
and i was freezing my *** off, but managed to get it off after countless hours
putting it back on was a piece of cake tho

any obdI d series alternator (that's for sure). I think b series won't fit but I could be wrong.
