Default Help: Air idle wire problem

i got a 97 civic dx and i put a 95 civic ex intake manifold on it. i extended the map, tps, air intake temp sensor, and all nessary sensors except the only problem i have is the air idle control valve on the dx harness has 3 wires and the new aicv only is a 2 wire plug. i switched up wires like its my job and nothen works right. anyone have a wire diagram that tells colors and what they do or has anyone know what to do here? i was thinkin bout switchin the 2 so the dx one is on the ex mani. any help would be appreciated!

in my haynes manual the 3 clolors u should have is orange, yel/blk, blk/blu on your old harness. thats what is shows for an automatic dx 97. since you got an older mani. and a maual trans now u should use the yel/blk and the blk/blu, i think u need to switch the pin for the blk/blu wire on the ecu between colors orange and red /yel to where the iac v is located on the ecu between wire colrs yel/blk and orange. 2 pin spaces over. there should be a blk/blu wire there u can splice the old blk/blu wire onto but if not u may have to pull out the pin and switch it to the new pin location. i have not done one of these before but, try using the yel/blk, and blk/blu first and see how the car runs. if not then u might have to do the pin change. hope i helped somewhat.

you will not use the orange wire and then wire up the other 2.

switching these wires will not help you any. cause you are still using the same ecu that came with the car that use 3 wires iac, and it will throw a cel.

3-wire ECU's can NOT control a 2-wire IACV and vice-versa.

Are you still using the Dx ECU?
