here is the deal i started my car today and once it was warmed up i took off noticed no vtec but it still went to 7500-7800 rpms i know when the car is cold it only goes to 7200 rpms sometimes there wont be a code sometimes there will be code 22 vtec malfuntion if u have any ideas please let me know thanx

The most basic thing you can do is check your oil level. I had that problem too, it was caused by both an improperly wired knock sensor and low oil.
