clutch replacement..
If all of the bolts are taken out and everything thatt he manual said..you should be able to wiggle it out. Some trannys are harder to take out than others. What I did was lean over the passenger fender and grab the tranny on both sides with a firm grip. Then wiggle and pull and it should break loose.
If you're replacing just the clutch, then you don't need to take the transmission 'apart' - you just need to remove it from the car.
If you have all the bolts, brackets, braces, and starter removed, it should come off - try using a screwdriver/hammer to pry it out/knock it out.
One of the dowel pins was straight frozen in the tranny half (when I did this procedure), but this didn't prevent me from pulling my tranny off.

it is simple you look at all the bolts around the tranny that go to the block, and you take all of those out.....
i bet your problem is that you didnt take out your starter bolts....
