Well, you can mix baking soda and warm water and use a tooth brush to scrub everything down.

1. Baking soda neutralizes battery acid. Scrub.
2. Scrub the battery (do NOT get baking soda INTO the battery--this will ruin your battery).
3. Scrub the whole area around the battery. If any acid got on to the metal around the battery, it will corrode and get real ugly FAST.

Do you need a new battery? I think most people usually buy a new battery when they are sure their old battery is dead.

Do you want to deal with this? Or, you can do like me. I used to buy those ultra expensive Interstate batteries. I found they last 1.5 - 2 years at most.

I just said screw it. Went to Costco and picked up an cheap Costco battery and just installed it.

I just found out Consumer Reports has the Costco battery it's #1 rated batter. $40 with 6 year warranty.

When you install the battery:

1. Make sure you get that metallic terminal scrubber to clean out the cable connections to the battery.
2. Get those red and green pads that help to keep the battery clean.

Pep Boys has all this stuff and the retards who work there can help you if they are not on their coffee break.
