Default Thinner headgasket or Flat bottom Valves??

I have a question. My setup is currently at around 11.3:1 compression(PR3 pistons/GSR). I want to raise compression 4 points at the most. I heard flat bottom valves are not worth just to raise compression, and Mugen/spoon/OEM 2 layer gaskets bring problems. Milling is already out of the question. What can i do??

timing problems?? are you running stock cam gears now? you should make sure everything is top dead center and then do the timing.. cam gears wouldn't be a "maintenance" modification to fix a problem.. they are to make more power above on a normal running healthy motor. have that checked out

He means because the head will sit lower and retard the cam timing. Any gears will correct that. I would get the valves if I were you. Omni and rockets valves flow better too.

same crap, gasket is cheaper and easier.

however, if you want to get technical, reducing the piston to head and piston to valve clearance (by milling) would be better for horsepower.

What are people's thoughts on going flat bottom valves, thin H/G so as not to have to skim head so much to acheive desired CR?

Ie. B16A2 = 10.2 CR with flat valves and thin HG could roughly get that to around what..... 10.8? Then would not have to skim head so much to get to say 11.0 CR.

Obviously even though you are not skimming the head so much you are still bringing the valves closer to the piston with the H/G so adj. cam gears are going to be a neccesity to get those cams repositioned.
