bought 99-00 si seats, wanna know if rears will bolt up in a 99 EK (searched)
Ok, i did a search and i found someone asking the same question... but they just told him the difference in the folding or something?? i didn't know if that meant they wouldn't fit or what.
I already bought some 99-00 civic si seats (rear and front) i put the fronts in already and it bolted up fine. I just finished taking out my rear seats (which took my like an hour cuz the bottom piece did NOT want to come out)... and i came to wonder, Will the si seats even bolt up without making any modifications?? i really don't want to have to put them in and find out that they don't even fit/ look right. So, to save MY energy and frusteration.. i figured i'd ask people on h-t b4 i actually go back out there and try to put them in.

yeah they will fit the EK coupe but not the hatchback, the coupe are 60/40 split folding seats and the hatch rear seats are 50/50
oooooooo ok, i get what u guys mean when u say the folds are different... i was looking at it right now and realized the bolts wont align. But, im determined to make it fit. So, my next question is HOW DO I MAKE THEM FIT?! lol.

naw, the front ones fit fine. if u have already taken the rear seats out then u will see that little metal bracket in the middle of the 2 rears seats, u will have to cut that out and reweld it a couple inches closer to the drivers side of the car. like i said the hatch rear seats are 50/50 folding, the couple is 60/40

yeah i'm pretty sure thats it. i bought the front and rear si seats for my hatch and then i didnt know that the rears didnt bolt right in. after u cut that one piece out, u can slide the seats in to see where to reweld the bracket

ok, thanks. i will try that. umm also, yesterday i just put them in the back to see how it would look.. and the seats are too short!
, if i reweld that piece... will the seats look better and not have that big gap in the middle? i dont get how that works..??

hmm if thats the case, i'm not sure. after i saw that i had to cut and reweld the bracket, i just gave up. i didnt think it was worth cuttin the stuff up. when u put the rears in to test fit them did u put the bottom part of the seat in also? it might fit better than just the backs of the SI's and the bottom stock part

Yea the bottom part of the si seats are already in and bolted up.. they fit just fine. Its just, when i put in the back part to see how it would look... there's a gap in the middle. i was thinking about buying some material and like something to subsitute that gap up... jsut so it looks alright. No ones ever back there anyways. i dunno, would that be stupid to do?? It's an idea, right?

well unless u cut and reweld the pins on the sides of the seat, i dont think that u will be able to get rid of the gap. i've seen what u are talkin about before, i think the same gap is there when people put ITR rear seats into a EK civic
i'd just rock the 99-00 si front seats and toss the rear ones in the garbage, i'm just usin the fronts and it looks fine.

Yes, the pic is me... and no, i dont have pics.... yet. My camera is broken, and plus i was just going to wait until my car is completely done... swap and everything b-4 posting it
.
But anyways, back to the subject.... I WOULD put the stock rear seats back in, but those seats are beat
, i think it's worth a shot to make the si's FIT! cuz once they do... it would make the inside look so much nicer. in MY opinion...
Anyways, Thanks for the help!! ill let ya know if i ever get them to fit!!!

well damn, your a very pretty young lady, with a good common interest... that is VERY attractive
well, thank you. But i would thank my bf for getting me into this stuff...
. Now, i can't WAIT to get my swap.. and get everything finished and looking nice!!! I'm taking it step by step. But once everything is done... i will show you guys my "cute" but fast (<-- or somewhat fast, i dunno what u would call fast) car haha. I was going to do a K series swap, but after seeing everyone's problems... i think ill stick to either a B or H series motor until the K-series are more established. And of course, i HAVE to go turbo
... i just have to.
u might think its gay cuz its pink, but i dont care cuz it will prolly beat u!! haha JK!! don't get crazy!!!
