Prelude question
Im just wanting to know if any A series engine puts out any more then 160hp stock, JDM, USDM whatever. I was approached by a guy today who says that his 90-91 Prelude has some "rare" JDM A series DOHC non-Vtec engine that puts out something like 200+ horses stock. He said that he put down a 13.8 et at the track with a stage 2 cam and stage 2 clutch otherwise its NA. Im calling bullshit. But I may be wrong.
b.s.
if they had a non-vtec motor that already made 200+hp, there wouldn't have been a reason to invent the h22a... and the type-s wouldn't be anything special, either.
the h23 puts out 160 stock though, and its dohc, non-vtec. but you wanted 'a' series

Thats what I was thinking. So you're all positive that there is no rare JDM "A" series DOHC that puts out even 160hp? The guy really wants to race me, I have a 91 Civic with a DOHC ZC motor and a 65 shot, putting out close to 200hp. But after he claimed this 13.8 ET with some rare A series beast, I got kinda hesitant, I know of only one A series motor, period and its a sohc turd. Im going to pull the BS flag after I spank him in that case. lol
a series? since when, what a a22 ha ha ha!
