Default Integra Type R head on a K20????

Just wanted to know if you can use a Type R or Type S head on my K20 to receive normal VTEC with modifying the ECU and wires? Thanks

Dear god, how many people are going to ask this question? We should just put a big sticky up for this question alone.

First off, there's no such a thing as "normal" VTEC. VTEC is VTEC, there are alot of variations of it...but it's still VTEC!

Yes, K-series blocks/heads are interchangable...kinda like the B-seires, funny how that works huh? However as with the B-series it's not a just a bolt on job and you're ready to go. I suggest you refer to https://honda-tech.com/zerosearch and http://www.google.com , also see http://www.yahoo.com , these will be great sources to help you to obtain "normal" VTEC.

What are these "wires" you speak of? There are plenty of "wires" on/in an automobile...be more specific...infact nevermind, just refer to the above sources.

Good luck...and good first post by the way... (Isn't there a rolling eyes smilie?...Well whatever, insert one here)

I assume you have an EP3. Search Head swap in this forum.

yes you can. rsx type-s,TSX and type-r are the best heads and all 3 have 3 cam lobes instead of 2 like the K20A3 so it should give you good power.

Yeah, and actually, i searched for head swap, and didn't find too much. Just to see.

However, upon reflection, the thread starter asked if he could swap an INTEGRA type-r head on.

Now, yes the JDM RSX is still called the integra, but, does the poster know that?
